Babel Cafe Restaurant

Mezeleri çok başarılı. Arap Tavası da favorilerimden biri. Atmosferini çok seviyorum. Arka fonda çalan müzik ve dekorasyonu akşam yemeğinize mistik bir hava katıyor :)

Özelikle müzik seçimleri ve çalışanları başarılı buluyorum buranın. Güzel bir iç tasarımı var ve hala ayakta olması sevindirici benim için. Kahvaltı güzeldi.

I visited this cafe upon my arrival in Istanbul around 5 days ago. I knew this cafe because I searched Trip Advisor and the rating of this cafe is good, like 4.5 out of 5 among restaurants or cafes in Taksim or Sishane area. It is not so easy for me to locate, as the cafe lies in a small street away from İstiklâl Caddesi. The waiter and waitress speak good English, so it's easy to ask about the content of the dishes on the menu (of course only choose two or three items to ask). The waiter is enthusiastic. He asked where I come from, and immediately spoke "Thank you" in my language, and he also asked me how to say a few things in my language. This shows he welcomes me to visit his place and I feel good about it. As for interior decor, it's a cosy and casual cafe setting. Food is quite good.

Absolutely incredible food. I've eaten here three out of the five days I was in Istanbul. Full of flavour and well presented. The staff are super nice and speak English. We waited only ten minutes for our food to be served. Great cozy atmosphere with relaxing music. Nice hidden gem in a busy city.

Aside from the fact that the location is great, one of the best things I liked about Babel was the fact that you can eat delicious kebab and Hatay mezze while also drinking (it's rare to see a place offer both kebab and alcohol). Highly recommend!

Went here for our first meal in Istanbul as it was close to our hotel. Was pretty disappointed with the food. Had much better Turkish food later on. Got the mezze and the Babel special (veg). If you're around for a few days, then it's worth a shot but not recommended for vegetarians. The place is cute and the staff is really nice.
